Pixels & Print: 48 Hours of Design & Impact
Pixels & Print is an intensive 48-hour design workshop at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where over 40 students collaborate with industry professionals to create branding, motion graphics, and digital assets for a real-world client. The workshop challenges teams to build a complete brand identity and marketing system from the ground up, all within a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Problem: Empower Parkinson’s Rebrand
Empower Parkinson, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve their quality of life, needed a refreshed brand identity to better communicate their mission and expand their reach. Originally founded as a Rock Steady Boxing gym, the organization had grown to offer over 50 classes per month, including yoga, tai chi, nutrition, and educational programs. Their existing branding didn’t fully reflect the breadth of their offerings or the holistic approach they take in empowering people with Parkinson’s to “fight back” against the disease.
Our goal was to create a cohesive brand system that would elevate their presence, clarify their mission, and make a stronger impact on those who could benefit from their programs.

My Roles
Throughout the workshop, I took on multiple roles in both branding and motion design:
Logo Design: Created the final logo selection that embodies movement, strength, and empowerment.
Brand System: Developed a unified color palette and typography pairing to establish a professional and approachable aesthetic.
Motion Graphics: Designed and animated logo reveals, sourced music and sound effects, and contributed to the final explainer video.
Voice-Over: Provided narration for the explainer video to bring the story of Empower Parkinson to life.
